In fact it is said that this part of the Island has 357 days of sunshine a year. Tenerife itself lies about 150 miles off the coast of Africa, just 5 degrees north of the Tropic of Cancer. The Island shares the same latitude and pleasant climate as California, so collecting a tan is as easy in winter as it is in the summer holidays. Los Cristianos is a coastal town with a harbour that is alive with a multitude of recreational and fishing boats. The pedestrian only paved streets are lined with shops, open air cafes and excellent restaurants where the many varieties of freshly caught fish and seafood can be sampled. |
